Tropical Temporariness (Haiku By : Vatsala)

By: Jatinder Aulakh

Haiku are not only a collection of some words
but also a creative

reflection of nature's scenery. As a painter draws when he/she notices a phenomenal view in front of his/her eyes, Haiku is an image of nature that  the camera of the  mind catches through the lens of the  eyes.
Vatsala is always helpful to co-writers, she is righteous in nature, and  full of goodness. Stream of her poetry flows after the  melting freeze of life's ups and down.
Tropical Temporariness' is
her 8th book of poetry (Haiku). This poetry came out after she experienced physical and mental agony  givenby her life's conditions.  She indeed  achieved such a brilliant poetry after overcoming the  pain of her  life.

It is really  a pleasure reading  'Tropical Temporariness'. It seems the  reader is embracing the sky of this tropical land 'Mauritius' like a bird. Readers  will surely  be mesmerized by the  images of nature and its belongings.
The haiku  of Vatsala  are  inspired  by  the  basics of nature: sun, moon, birds, mountains, trees, flowers, sea, wind, rain, weather, folklore etc.

The Themes of this book brings the message that humankind shouldn't try to apart itself from nature. If we  remain stuck in materialistic things , we can't enjoy the quality of life.

Being obedient to nature is first condition of haiku poetry. Her haiku talk about many species of birds which have been on the verge of  extinction in this age but were eventually saved  by the fauna and flora protection organisations.
“Tropical Temporariness” can become a hallmark book of nature's beauty and mystery of the island, Mauritius.
The Dodo bird was living on this island during the Dutch rule  and after some time  it was extinct. Vatsala is like an ambassador of nature who wishes  through her haiku that  the Dodo bird  returns . This book is like a device of communication with the  joy of nature.
